North Island Menopause Conference Returns with Expert Insights

The North Island Menopause Conference is set to return to Campbell River on November 8, 2024, offering women an opportunity to gather for a day filled with valuable information and support related to menopause. This second annual event will take place at the Campbell River Community Centre and aims to build upon the success of last year’s inaugural conference.
Organized by Kathy Grayson, founder and executive director, the conference focuses on providing women with accurate information and a supportive community as they navigate the complexities of midlife health. Grayson expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “It’s such an inspiring and engaging event, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring it back. Women deserve access to accurate information and the chance to find community with others experiencing the same transitions.”
Expert Speakers and Diverse Topics
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Shirley Weir, a well-known author, podcast host, and founder of Menopause Chicks. Over the last decade, Weir has emerged as a prominent advocate for women’s health, providing credible information and breaking down the stigma surrounding menopause. Joining her are other notable speakers, including Tanya Kessling, a registered physiotherapist and owner of Mend Bodyworks in Campbell River, Elisabeth Crisci, an award-winning medical doctor and director of Pacifica MD in Qualicum Beach, and Erin Roman, a registered dietitian specializing in the links between nutrition and mental health.
The conference will feature a mix of large-format presentations and smaller, interactive workshops. Topics covered will include sleep issues, hormone therapy, exercise and neuroscience, incontinence and pelvic floor support, burnout, nutrition, mental health, and hypnotherapy. Attendees will have the flexibility to design their learning experience by selecting sessions that align with their interests and needs.
Registration and Additional Opportunities
Participants will also have access to booths showcasing additional services and products related to menopause. Throughout the day, speakers will be available for questions and informal discussions, promoting a collaborative atmosphere.
Tickets for the event are priced at $75, with options for attending in person or accessing an online stream of select presentations, which will be available live and for a limited time after the event. Further details, including the full conference schedule and speaker lineup, can be found at nimenopause.com.
Organizers are actively seeking additional sponsors and vendors to participate in the conference. Interested parties can reach out via email at [email protected] for more information. This conference promises to be a vital resource for women seeking support and knowledge during a significant phase of life.
