Brandon University has concluded its fall examination period, marking a significant milestone for students as the holiday break approaches. The final exams took place on December 22, 2025, and the university will officially close for the holidays starting December 23. Students can look forward to returning on January 5, 2026, for winter orientation.

Classes in the Faculty of Education will commence on the same day, with most other courses beginning on January 6, 2026. The university’s Healthy Living Centre will maintain limited operations throughout the holiday season. The centre will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, while offering reduced hours on select other days. For specific opening times, students are encouraged to visit the Healthy Living Centre’s website.

As students enjoy their break, the athletic programs at Brandon University will also pause, with Canada West play set to resume in January. The men’s and women’s basketball teams will kick off their return with home games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on January 8 and January 9, 2026, at the Healthy Living Centre.

Meanwhile, Assiniboine College is gearing up for its own holiday break, which will begin at noon on December 24, 2025, and extend until January 2, 2026. The college is encouraging community engagement through its Ag Partnership Breakfast, scheduled for January 18, 2026, during Manitoba Ag Days. This event aims to support financial awards for students pursuing agricultural programs and related trades. Tickets are available now on the college’s website.

Additionally, alumni are invited to reconnect at the Ag Mixer on January 21, 2026, as part of the Manitoba Ag Days festivities. While registration is not mandatory, interested participants are recommended to email the college for more information.

As the year draws to a close, both institutions wish their students and staff a joyful holiday season and look forward to a successful start in the new year.
