Brandon University and Assiniboine College have announced important updates regarding their academic schedules and events as the end of the year approaches. With final exams for Brandon University students scheduled to conclude on December 22, 2025, the university will begin its holiday break on December 24. The institution is set to reopen on January 5, 2026, coinciding with winter orientation activities.

Exam Schedules and Holiday Operations

While some classes in the Faculty of Education will commence on January 5, most courses are expected to begin on January 6. The university’s Healthy Living Centre will remain operational throughout the holiday season, with closures only on Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. For more detailed information on operating hours, individuals can visit HealthyLivingCentre.ca.

Bobcat Athletics teams will take a break during this period, resuming their Canada West play in January. The basketball teams will kick off the new year with home games against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen on January 8 and January 9, 2026, at the Healthy Living Centre.

Upcoming Events at Assiniboine College

Assiniboine College is gearing up for a series of events in January, starting with the Manitoba Ag Days, which will feature a breakfast aimed at supporting financial awards for students pursuing agricultural programs. The event, scheduled for January 18, 2026, encourages community members to participate and enjoy a hearty meal while contributing to future agricultural leaders.

Additionally, alumni are invited to reconnect at the Ag Mixer on January 21 as part of the Manitoba Ag Days celebrations. While registration is not mandatory, it is recommended to contact [email protected] for planning purposes.

In a bid to support students during the final exam period, Assiniboine College Students’ Association is offering the Final Stretch Support initiative. This program will take place at the Victoria Avenue East campus on December 18, 2025, from 16:00 to 19:00, providing students with additional resources and guidance as they prepare for their exams.

As both institutions approach the new year, they remain committed to providing students with the resources and support necessary for their academic success. These updates aim to keep students and community members informed during this busy time.
