Miata Metals Secures Five-Year License Renewal for Sela Creek Project

Miata Metals Corp. has successfully renewed its exploitation license for the Sela Creek Gold Project, located in Suriname, for an additional five years. This renewal allows the company to proceed with extensive exploration activities and is a significant step in its ongoing development of the project.
The renewal, confirmed on August 27, 2025, grants Miata access to approximately 100 square kilometers, encompassing most of the current artisanal mining footprint at Sela Creek. This area includes the primary zones of interest for Miata, facilitating ongoing operations such as sampling, trenching, and drilling.
Jaap Verbaas, CEO of Miata Metals, expressed enthusiasm about the renewal, stating, “We are pleased to have received the renewal of our exploitation license for another five years, providing a long runway for continued exploration.” The company is currently advancing its 10,000 m drill program, which aims to further assess the gold potential of the region.
The renewal comes on the heels of a successful financing round, which was oversubscribed, positioning Miata Metals to enhance its exploration efforts. The Geological Mining Service in Suriname (GMD) provided the license renewal, ensuring that the company can fully capitalize on its exploration plans.
As part of the ongoing development under the option agreement for Sela Creek, Miata Metals has made all required cash payments to date and issued 592,883 shares to the optionors, representing a value of approximately USD 100,000 based on the trailing five-day volume-weighted average price. This step strengthens the company’s position as it moves towards increasing its interest in the project from 70% to 100%.
To achieve full ownership, Miata must complete several remaining milestones outlined in the option agreement. The company has also issued 2,400,000 stock options to management and consultants, with an exercise price of USD 0.25, a three-year term, and a vesting schedule of 50% upon grant and the remaining 50% after twelve months.
Miata Metals Corp., listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE: MMET) and the Frankfurt Exchange (FSE: 8NQ), focuses on mineral exploration and development. The company holds a significant interest in both the Sela Creek Gold Project and the Nassau Gold Project, also located in Suriname.
As Miata Metals continues its exploration activities, the renewed license represents both a commitment to the Sela Creek project and the potential for future growth in the gold sector. The company remains dedicated to advancing its exploration efforts while adhering to regulatory requirements and maintaining transparency with its investors.
