bpostgroup, a prominent provider of global commerce and logistics solutions, has announced the appointment of Dieter Van Putte as the new Chief Technology Officer for its Cross Border division. This newly created position reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its focus on international e-commerce and logistics.

Van Putte will oversee operations at Landmark Global, bpostgroup’s international logistics subsidiary, and Apple Express, which specializes in last-mile delivery services in North America. In his role, he will report to Frank Croket, Chief Digital Officer of bpostgroup, and collaborate closely with James Edge, Chief Executive Officer of the Cross Border division.

With nearly two decades of experience in technology and digital transformation, Van Putte joins bpostgroup from Accenture, where he served as Associate Director. In this capacity, he advised senior executives on IT transformation initiatives and led projects in software engineering and logistics, focusing on scalable, technology-enabled solutions.

Responding to Industry Changes

Van Putte’s appointment comes at a time when the logistics and cross-border commerce sectors are rapidly evolving due to digitalization, automation, and increasing customer demands for speed and reliability. By investing in dedicated technology leadership, bpostgroup aims to strengthen its position as a forward-looking logistics provider capable of navigating the complexities of global trade.

“Technology is no longer a support function in logistics; it is the driver of resilience and growth,” stated Frank Croket. He emphasized that Van Putte possesses the necessary vision and execution skills to ensure that the company’s technology initiatives have a tangible impact for clients. “His leadership will accelerate our innovation agenda and cement bpostgroup’s commitment to technology as a key lever for long-term growth,” Croket added.

James Edge echoed this sentiment, stating, “For many global brands, technology has become the decisive factor in maintaining a competitive landscape across borders.” He noted that Van Putte’s leadership will be crucial in delivering the digital footprint necessary for clients to thrive in the evolving landscape of international trade.

Enhancing Technology Strategy

In his new role, Van Putte will be responsible for enhancing digital platforms, driving automation, and improving system integration with global partners. His efforts will focus on unifying data architecture across regions, facilitating smarter decision-making, and enabling reliable and streamlined cross-border operations. This approach aims to provide clients with faster and more predictable delivery performance.

“bpostgroup’s strength has always been its ability to adapt,” Van Putte remarked. “I’m proud to help lead the next evolution, one defined by innovation, digital excellence, and stronger collaboration with our partners to deliver future-ready cross-border solutions.”

Van Putte holds a Master of Science in Computer Science Engineering from Ghent University, further underscoring his technical expertise in the field.
