Lethbridge County Engages Benchmark for Assessment Services
Lethbridge County has announced a significant shift in its assessment services by hiring an external provider. This change comes as the County’s longtime assessor prepares for retirement later this year. The decision to transition to an outside firm is aimed at ensuring compliance with the Municipal Government Act and maintaining the quality of service for property assessments.
Following a competitive Request for Proposal process, Lethbridge County selected Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. as the new service provider. Benchmark is recognized as the largest assessment firm in southern Alberta, currently serving 48 municipalities across the province. The firm has already commenced on-site assessment activities throughout the County, which include property inspections for new developments, building permits, annual re-inspections, and handling complaints related to assessments.
Residents of Lethbridge County can expect to see Benchmark assessors actively engaged in these activities. These assessors will be clearly identifiable, wearing visible identification and driving vehicles marked with both the Benchmark and Lethbridge County logos. This effort aims to assure property owners of the legitimacy and professionalism of the assessment process.
For any inquiries regarding assessments, property owners can reach out via email at [email protected] or call 403.381.0525. Additional information regarding assessments in Lethbridge County can be found on the official website at https://lethcounty.ca/p/assessment.
This strategic move reflects Lethbridge County’s commitment to uphold high standards in property assessment while adapting to changing circumstances. The collaboration with Benchmark Assessment Consultants Inc. is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the assessment process, benefitting both the County and its residents.
