Kitchener Man Charged After Violent Hit-and-Run Incident
A **26-year-old man from Kitchener** faces multiple charges following a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Waterloo on **February 26, 2024**. The incident took place at the intersection of **University Avenue East** and **Bridge Street West**, where two vehicles were involved in a minor collision that escalated into a physical confrontation.
According to the **Waterloo Regional Police Service**, the altercation intensified when one of the drivers began to use racial slurs while physically assaulting the other driver. The assailant subsequently caused damage to the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the victim, a **65-year-old man from Waterloo**, did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
Following an investigation, police arrested the Kitchener man on **March 3, 2024**. He has been charged with **assault**, **mischief under $5,000**, **failure to remain**, and **careless driving**. The authorities have emphasized the seriousness of the charges, particularly in light of the racial slurs used during the altercation.
