Kinsmen Water Park Closes After Medical Emergency on Thursday
Kinsmen Water Park in Prince Albert was closed for most of the day on July 6, 2023, following a medical emergency involving a swimmer. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when lifeguards were alerted to a swimmer in distress. Parkland Ambulance paramedics promptly transported the individual to hospital for treatment.
In a press release, the City of Prince Albert stated that the closure allowed staff to conduct a thorough debrief regarding the emergency situation. Details about the swimmer’s condition have not been disclosed.
The City emphasized its commitment to safety, noting the park’s adult supervision policy. Under this policy, children under the age of eight must be accompanied by an adult who remains in the water and within arm’s reach at all times.
Kinsmen Water Park reopened later, but the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and adherence to safety protocols in recreational areas. The City has not provided additional information about the swimmer or the nature of the medical emergency, but the swift response from lifeguards and paramedics highlights the preparedness of staff in handling such situations.
