Ducharme Limousine Tours Launches Unique Scenic Experiences in Cowichan Valley
Christopher Ducharme has officially launched his business, Ducharme Limousine and Tours, based in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia. This new venture, which began its soft launch earlier this year, aims to offer unique scenic experiences for clients traveling between Victoria and north Nanaimo. Ducharme, who identifies as Metis, emphasizes the importance of creating enjoyable and memorable journeys for all his clients.
The business is built on Ducharme’s passion for providing exceptional service. “I branded it after my family name, which means charming or giver of happiness,” he stated. Since launching, he has attracted a diverse clientele eager to explore the beauty of Cowichan Valley. Ducharme has already become a popular choice for various events, including wine tours, weddings, and concerts.
Background and Experience
Originally from Devon, Alberta, Ducharme spent 17 years working in various roles, including a stint in the oil fields and with BC Transit. His journey to entrepreneurship began in 2017 when he connected with Encore Limousine, where he gained invaluable experience. This led him to invest in a 2003 Lincoln Town Car Super Stretch limousine, which can comfortably accommodate up to eight passengers.
Ducharme’s dedication to his craft is evident in his meticulous planning and attention to detail. For each tour, he coordinates venues, plans routes, and accommodates special requests from clients. “I act as a concierge,” he explained, “making sure the experience is seamless and enjoyable.” His commitment to service has garnered positive feedback, with clients expressing gratitude for the personalized touch.
The official launch of Ducharme Limousine and Tours coincided with the summer season, during which he served as a transport driver for Laketown Ranch events, including the Bluegrass Festival. His service extended to major concerts, such as those featuring Nickelback, where he found himself booked months in advance.
Building Relationships and Community Engagement
Ducharme’s approach to business extends beyond transportation; he is also committed to fostering relationships within the community. As a member of both the Chamber of Commerce and the Cowichan Bay Business Improvement Association, he actively collaborates with local businesses. This network includes wineries, breweries, and restaurants, allowing him to offer clients exclusive experiences.
One of the standout features of Ducharme’s service is his wine tour offerings. He partners with esteemed wineries like Enrico Winery and Unsworth Vineyards, providing clients with curated experiences that highlight the region’s rich viticulture. “Wineries offer different benefits for people coming, so we have preferred wineries that we refer and book with,” Ducharme noted.
In addition to wine tours, Ducharme has created memorable experiences for events like graduations and special celebrations. Last summer, he took Frances Kelsey students to picturesque lookouts and Cherry Point beach, making their graduation day unforgettable. “I strive to provide all my clients with a seamless enjoyable experience that they will remember forever,” he stated.
Ducharme’s success can be attributed not only to his commitment to service but also to his creative passions. He has written poetry, self-published books, and even hosted an art show. His artistic flair extends to photography, where he offers clients keepsake packages. New clients receive a set of Vancouver Island postcards as a special welcome.
Another unique aspect of Ducharme Limousine and Tours is the addition of “Pretty Patty’s Cheesecake,” a tribute to his late mother. This special treat, originally created for family celebrations, has become a signature offering during his tours.
Ducharme’s commitment to safety and integrity is paramount. He has been sober for nine years, which he views as a personal achievement and an important aspect of his business model. “I feel honoured and privileged to provide transportation for people who may or may not be intoxicated,” he said, emphasizing the importance of being a responsible driver.
As he looks ahead, Ducharme is preparing for a full launch in spring 2024. He plans to expand his services and potentially add more vehicles to accommodate larger groups. “I have had requests for double limos and to accommodate groups larger than eight,” he explained, indicating a promising future for his business.
With a commitment to excellence, a passion for community, and a love for the scenic beauty of Cowichan Valley, Ducharme Limousine and Tours is poised for success. Clients can expect not just transportation but an experience that highlights the charm and beauty of the region. For more information about his services, visit ducharmelimo.com.
