A resident of Batavia, Illinois, is set to remain in custody while awaiting trial on a charge of first-degree murder. Authorities reported that Hector B. Luvianos allegedly confessed to killing his wife, Noemi Parada Narvaez, following a 911 call made at approximately 04:30 on December 23, 2023. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a woman with severe injuries inside their apartment, located in the 100 block of Church Street.

The Kane County Coroner, Monica Silva, identified the deceased as Noemi Parada Narvaez, aged 43. While the official cause and manner of death have yet to be determined, Silva confirmed that Parada Narvaez was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology tests are currently pending to provide further clarity on the circumstances surrounding her death.

Luvianos, who has also been referred to as Hector Luvianos-Barrera, made his initial court appearance on December 24, 2023. During this hearing, the Kane County State’s Attorney, Jamie Mosser, requested that he be held in jail during the pretrial period, a motion that the court granted.

Law enforcement officials responded promptly to Luvianos’ 911 call, finding him outside the apartment when they arrived. Inside, they discovered his wife with life-threatening injuries. Despite the immediate efforts of first responders, Parada Narvaez could not be revived and was declared dead at the location.

The incident has been classified as a domestic crime, with officials indicating that there is no broader threat to the community. The Batavia Police Department and the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office have issued a joint statement regarding the case. They expressed condolences for the loss experienced by the victim’s family, particularly during this challenging time of year.

In a separate statement, Coroner Silva remarked, “My staff and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of Ms. Parada Narvaez. It is never easy to see families experience loss, but we recognize that this time of year is even more difficult for those who have lost a loved one.”

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident. They encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the Batavia Police Department Investigations Division at 630-454-2500. The case remains under scrutiny, with further developments expected as the investigation unfolds.
