19-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting in Ingleside

A 19-year-old man from Round Lake was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in Ingleside late on October 10, 2023. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the shooting, which occurred around 23:15 local time.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 35700 block of North Wilson Road. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim in a driveway with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite immediate efforts by deputies and paramedics to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported that the victim was attending a birthday party at the residence when a group of individuals arrived and engaged in an argument with some of the partygoers. Following the dispute, the group left but returned shortly after, driving by the house and opening fire. The victim was struck while standing in the driveway as the group fled the scene.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office is involved in the case, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing, with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office handling the case.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation. As the community comes to terms with this tragic event, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the victim and his family.
