Subscribers to services such as Crave, Disney+, Netflix, and Prime Video can look forward to a range of fresh content, including action-packed films and compelling documentaries.

Crave Spotlights New Action Film

On December 12, Crave will premiere the highly anticipated film, Ballerina. This action feature, which runs for approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, takes place between the events of the third and fourth installments of the popular John Wick series. The film follows an assassin seeking vengeance against a group of killers. The cast includes newcomers such as Ana de Armas (known for her role in Knives Out) and Gabriel Byrne (famous for Hereditary), alongside familiar faces like Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane. Note that a $5.99 monthly Starz add-on is required for viewing, with Crave’s ad-free membership priced at $22 per month.

Disney+ Delivers Fantasy and Music Docuseries

Disney+ will launch two new titles during this period. The first, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, premieres on December 10, featuring the adventures of Percy and his friends as they embark on a quest into the Sea of Monsters. This series, based on the beloved books by Rick Riordan, stars Walker Scobell and Courtney B. Vance, who steps into the role of Zeus, previously portrayed by the late Lance Reddick.

Additionally, on December 12, Disney+ will debut Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show, a docuseries filmed during Swift’s record-breaking concert in Vancouver. This six-part series will provide fans with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the tour.

Netflix Introduces Animated Adventures and Documentaries

On December 11, Netflix will release Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, an animated adventure inspired by the popular video game series. The film features voices from notable actors such as Hayley Atwell and Karen Fukuhara. Subscribers can also catch the documentary Simon Cowell: The Next Act, which explores Cowell’s quest to discover the next successful boy band, premiering on December 10.

Moreover, December 12 marks the arrival of Wake Up Dead Man, a mystery film that reunites writer-director Rian Johnson with Daniel Craig, alongside an ensemble cast including Josh O’Connor and Kerry Washington. This film runs for approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes and promises to deliver Johnson’s signature twists and engaging storytelling.

Prime Video Offers Action and Awards Coverage

On December 12, Prime Video will present Nobody 2, an action film starring Bob Odenkirk as a workaholic assassin who faces off against corrupt police and a crime boss during a family vacation. The film, directed by Timo Tjahjanto, runs for about 1 hour and 29 minutes and was filmed in Winnipeg.

Additionally, Prime Video will stream The Game Awards live for the first time on December 11, hosted by Geoff Keighley. The event, which begins with a pre-show at 19:30 ET, will celebrate the best in gaming and feature new trailers and announcements.
