Australia Did It Demo Launching at Steam Next Fest This Month
Indie publisher Mystic Forge has announced that the highly anticipated game Australia Did It will make its debut playable appearance at the upcoming Steam Next Fest. From February 23 to March 2, 2024, players will have the opportunity to experience a demo that showcases the game’s unique combination of Tower Defense and Reverse Bullet Hell mechanics.
Developed in collaboration with acclaimed game designer Rami Ismail and co-developer Aesthetician Labs, Australia Did It thrusts players into the role of the last line of defense for a heavily guarded freight train. The train navigates the desolate Atlantic basin, a region altered by an enigmatic and catastrophic event. As players move from station to station, they must deploy mercenaries to fend off waves of relentless enemies, all while ensuring the safe delivery of valuable cargo.
Strategic Gameplay and Unique Mechanics
Preparation is crucial in Australia Did It. Before each departure, players strategically place a limited number of units to withstand incoming attacks. This strategic element creates fast-paced encounters that reward players for their positioning and quick decision-making. During gameplay, players can merge units to create more powerful or specialized variants, with over 1,500 possible combinations and more than 30 unit types available.
Once the train is in motion, the gameplay transitions into high-energy Reverse Bullet Hell action. Players become the source of overwhelming firepower as they engage in chaotic rail battles against massive enemy swarms. Between stations, players earn reward cards that unlock unique bonuses, allowing them to adapt their strategies and build creative synergies throughout their playthrough.
Looking Ahead
Australia Did It is set to officially launch on PC via Steam in 2026. Interested players can wishlist the game now and join the official Discord channel for updates and announcements. A new trailer for the game will premiere on February 19, 2024, during the Indie Fan Fest, further heightening excitement for its upcoming demo.
As the gaming community eagerly anticipates this innovative title, Mystic Forge is poised to make a significant impact during the Steam Next Fest with Australia Did It, blending tactical gameplay with intense action in a compelling narrative setting.
