Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt has shared her insights on winter nail trends and care tips just in time for the colder months. Known for her work with high-profile clients, including Hailey Bieber and Adele, Ganzorigt’s expertise is shaping the way many approach their nail care routines during winter 2023.

Ganzorigt gained significant attention after she created the now-iconic glazed donut nails for Bieber before the 2022 Met Gala. The look emerged spontaneously and has since inspired countless imitations. “It just came in that moment,” Ganzorigt recalled. “We tried it. We loved it. And the rest is history.”

Winter Nail Trends: A Focus on French Manicures

This winter, Ganzorigt predicts that various interpretations of the French manicure will dominate. One standout style she introduced is the “drunk French” manicure, which features a blurred transition between the base and the French tip. “I did this on Sabrina,” she explained, noting that it resembles what a French manicure might look like if done by someone under the influence.

Clients of Ganzorigt, including Kylie Jenner, have also been experimenting with different French styles. For Jenner, Ganzorigt drew inspiration from a 1997 magazine cover, creating a deep, less-curved French manicure that the client loved so much she requested multiple repetitions.

Expert Nail Care Tips for the Winter Months

As many Canadians experience brittle nails during winter, Ganzorigt emphasizes the importance of maintaining nail health in colder climates. “Especially in winter, the skin gets super dry,” she noted. Her top recommendation is to regularly use cuticle oil. Additionally, she advocates for OPI’s “Repair Mode,” which she describes as a keratin treatment for nails. “It’s perfect for strengthening, whether you’re taking a break from gel manicures or not,” she stated.

For those who prefer to keep their nails simple during winter, Ganzorigt suggests dark shades, such as “Complimentary Wine,” “Lincoln Park After Dark,” or “Black Onyx.” She also recommends a holiday-inspired look featuring “Glossy Goddess,” a vibrant red base with white dots for a festive touch.

With her finger on the pulse of nail trends, Zola Ganzorigt continues to influence how individuals approach their manicures and care routines, ensuring that their nails remain stylish and healthy throughout the winter season.
