Local Charity Receives Boost from Holiday Fundraisers at Willowbrook
Local charities are set to benefit significantly from two fundraisers at the Willowbrook Shopping Centre this holiday season. The shopping centre has launched its Golden Gift Chocolate Bars campaign alongside the return of its Charity Gift Wrap Centre, with a combined goal of raising $25,000 for local organizations.
The Charity Gift Wrap Centre, operated by dedicated volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Langley, offers shoppers the opportunity to have their gifts wrapped with festive touches. This service will be available until December 24, 2023, with prices starting at $2 per package. All proceeds from this initiative will directly support youth mentorship programs provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In addition, the Storehouse Community Hub Society, a charity based in Cloverdale, is benefitting from the Golden Gift Chocolate Bars initiative. Formerly known as the Cloverdale Community Kitchen, the organization has evolved since its founding in 2011 and aims to serve various communities including Cloverdale, Langley, White Rock, North Delta, and other areas of Surrey.
Shoppers can purchase Golden Gift Chocolate Bars for $10 each at the concierge desk located on the southeast side of the shopping centre, also available until December 24. Not only do these chocolate bars make excellent stocking stuffers, but they also come with an exciting twist. Each bar offers a one-in-six chance to win a Willowbrook gift card, with one grand prize of a $1,000 shopping spree.
Nicole Lotz, marketing director of Willowbrook, expressed pride in partnering with Storehouse Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters this holiday season. “This year’s holiday programs are all about spreading joy with purpose – and every Golden Gift Chocolate Bar purchased, or present wrapped helps lift up local families and youth during a time of year when community care can make a real difference,” she stated.
The initiatives at Willowbrook Shopping Centre not only provide festive cheer but also reinforce the importance of community support during the holiday season. By participating in these fundraisers, shoppers can contribute to meaningful causes and help make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
