CTV Regina’s Bundle of Joy Campaign Raises Over $5,000 for Families
The annual Bundle of Joy campaign, organized by CTV Regina and Pure Country 92.7, successfully raised over $5,000 along with thousands of essential baby supplies for vulnerable families in Regina. The campaign culminated on Thursday morning with a presentation of a cheque for $5,070 to Carmichael Outreach at SUDS Full Service Car Wash, a key sponsor of the initiative.
The Bundle of Joy campaign, which began in 2016, aims to support families with young children during the holiday season. Donations, including diapers and baby wipes, were collected at SUDS and other locations throughout Regina during the Christmas period. Kirby Kazeil, the owner of SUDS, expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement, stating, “We were happy to be involved, and it’s important to give back to the community. With the help of our customers too, that fully support the program.”
The campaign has become a significant annual event, with local citizens and businesses contributing generously. Kazeil acknowledged the role of customers in making the donation possible: “A big shout out to all our customers who donated diapers and wipes and cash to come up with that donation.”
Addressing Financial Burdens for New Families
Janis Miller, the fundraising coordinator at Carmichael Outreach, highlighted the pressing need for such support. “Having a new baby is a huge financial burden on a lot of families,” she explained. “The need is definitely great, especially with the cost of living nowadays. Trying to keep a roof over your head and maintain healthy groceries is challenging for many.”
The Bundle of Joy campaign has continued to expand its impact over the past decade, reflecting the growing challenges faced by families in the community. In its tenth year, the initiative has proven to be a crucial resource for those in need.
As the campaign wraps up another successful year, the collaboration between local businesses and community members underscores the importance of collective efforts in supporting vulnerable populations. The ongoing commitment to helping families during difficult times reinforces the spirit of giving and community support that defines Regina.
