Community Mourns the Loss of Ron Turgeon at 80

Ron Turgeon, a beloved member of the community, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 80. He died at the Sault Area Hospital, leaving behind his cherished wife, Judy Turgeon (née Cox), with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born to the late Lucienne and Philias Turgeon, Ron was not only a devoted husband but also a loving brother to the late Rita Chartier (Richard) and Edourd Turgeon (Gail), and the late Richard Turgeon. His family and friends remember him as a man who embraced life’s adventures with enthusiasm. Together with Judy, he enjoyed many journeys, always seeking the next beautiful destination.

Ron’s contributions extended beyond his family. He was a respected figure among his neighbors and friends, who will fondly remember his warm spirit and kindness. His legacy will remain in the hearts of those who knew him, as they reflect on the many memories shared.

Funeral Arrangements Announced

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, located at 942 Great Northern Rd, on January 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.. The service will be officiated by Rev. Helen Smith.

Following the service, Ron will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery. The family encourages those wishing to express their sympathy to consider making memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or to a charity of their choice.
