Alectra Earns Imagine Canada PRISM Certification for 5th Year
Alectra Inc. has achieved the prestigious Imagine Canada PRISM Community Impact Certification for the fifth consecutive year, underscoring the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. This national certification recognizes organizations that commit at least one per cent of their pre-tax profits to charitable and non-profit initiatives each year.
The PRISM Certification serves as a national benchmark for community investment, highlighting Alectra’s commitment to various critical areas such as environmental sustainability, equity, diversity, and inclusion. It also acknowledges the company’s extensive employee volunteerism and efforts to foster Indigenous relations.
“Our commitment to our community is deeply rooted in who we are,” said Brian Bentz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alectra Inc. “We’re honoured to receive Imagine Canada’s PRISM Certification once again, which reflects our ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.”
Commitment to Purpose-Driven Impact
In addition to the certification, Alectra has been recognized as a key corporate contributor to Imagine Canada’s white paper titled “Prism Practices: Advancing Purpose-Driven Partnerships between Business and Community Organizations.” This document outlines best practices for creating long-term, meaningful impacts through collaboration between businesses and community organizations.
“We are pleased to count Alectra as part of Imagine Canada’s PRISM Network,” stated Bruce MacDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer of Imagine Canada. “Making society a better place requires both long-term investment of time and resources, as well as intentionality. Alectra exemplifies leadership in corporate social responsibility through their values and actions.”
Established in 2017, Alectra’s AlectraCARES Community Support Program provides ongoing, application-based multi-year funding to support charitable, not-for-profit, and community organizations throughout the company’s service territory. The program focuses on health, education, environment, and community development initiatives.
Through the AlectraCARES initiative, the company has supported major regional health foundations, including Trillium Health Partners, Guelph General Hospital Foundation, Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, and William Osler Health System Foundation, among others. This demonstrates Alectra’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of the communities in which it operates.
