A Toronto boy, who gained fame after expressing his exhaustion while shovelling snow during a winter storm, has since developed a newfound appreciation for the task. In a recent interview with CP24, Carter Trozzolo shared that he now enjoys snow shovelling, a shift in attitude that has emerged four years after his initial viral moment.

On Thursday morning, Carter was out shovelling snow outside his home while discussing the upcoming winter storm expected to deliver up to 35 cm of snow to the region. Reflecting on his previous sentiments, he stated, “I’ve started to love shovelling a lot more now. It’s a lot of snow; it’s a lot more than I was expecting.”

Carter first captured the public’s attention in January 2022 during a segment on CTV News. At that time, he was seen bundled up and shovelling snow on his sidewalk, expressing the fatigue that often accompanies winter chores. He famously remarked, “I really wish I was in school right now,” while sighing dramatically about the tiring task.

Fast forward to today, and Carter has embraced the reality of living in a Canadian winter. He noted that while he can earn some money from shovelling, his motivation lies in helping others. “I don’t think it’s about the money. I like to help,” he explained. “I like to give back to the community, so it’s just a fun little thing.”

In keeping with the spirit of his viral fame, Carter demonstrated his snow shovelling technique for CP24, indicating that he plans to spend his snow day engaged in outdoor activities. “Shovelling snow, playing in the snow, just everything with snow today!” he exclaimed. As the snow piled up, he was prepared to assist his neighbours as well, stating, “It’s going to be a long day.”

Carter’s experience with the initial news report has shaped his outlook on community engagement. He expressed gratitude for the attention he received, saying, “I was astounded by how many people actually saw me and noticed me and wanted to talk to me. And I just loved it. I loved being known.”
