Medicine Hat Catholic Schools Announce Open House Dates for Families
Parents and guardians in Medicine Hat will have the opportunity to explore local Catholic schools during a series of open houses and tours planned by the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education. These events, designed to help families make informed decisions about their children’s education, will commence on January 22, 2026.
St. Mary’s Junior High will kick off the tours with a self-guided tour and scavenger hunt scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. Meanwhile, St. Francis Xavier Elementary will offer an all-day drop-in open house from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the same day.
On January 26, Notre Dame Academy and École St. John II will welcome families. Notre Dame Academy’s event will feature a presentation in its gymnasium from 6 to 8 p.m., which will include a guided tour of the facilities. Simultaneously, families are invited to join a morning assembly at 8:45 a.m. at École St. John II, followed by a school tour. This school will also be open for drop-in visits from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..
For parents interested in touring St. Michael’s Elementary and St. Louis Elementary, both schools are requesting that parents call to book appointments. Tours at St. Michael’s will be available on January 28 and can be arranged by contacting 403-527-7242. St. Louis will host tours from January 28 to 30, and can be reached at 403-527-7411.
On February 2, St. Patrick’s School will hold a presentation along with a guided tour from 7 to 8 p.m.. Additionally, Mother Teresa School is inviting parents to book tours on February 4 and 5 during two time slots: 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Parents can call 403-529-2000 to schedule their visits. Lastly, Monsignor McCoy High School will host a presentation and tour on February 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m..
The community is also invited to an information session regarding the new Holy Trinity Academy at Holy Family Parish on February 11 from 7 to 8 p.m.
In addition to these tours, the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education will begin sending online registration forms for the 2026-27 school year to families with current students in the final week of January.
This year, the board is also promoting Pink Shirt Day by offering a special line of clothing items and accessories that promote kindness and stand against bullying. The items, available through the division’s online “Faith Shop,” include a variety of pink shirts, hoodies, stickers, and bags designed with messages such as “Love like Jesus” and “You are fearfully and wonderfully made.” Prices range from $20 to $50. Orders placed by February 1 will be ready by February 13, just ahead of Pink Shirt Day on February 25.
