26 Students from Plainfield District 202 to Shine at All-State Conference

Plainfield School District 202 has confirmed that 26 music students from elementary and middle schools will represent the district at the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) Junior All-State Conference. The event is scheduled to take place from January 28 to 31, 2024, in Peoria, providing a prestigious platform for young musicians to showcase their talents.

The selected students hail from various schools within the district. From Drauden Point Middle School, the participants include Holden Garcia, Yazmin Arceo, Emily Garcia, Lyla Halloran, and Stella Ooms. Ira Jones Middle School will be represented by Noelia Cepeda-Tapia, Jonathan Devore, Sarah Springer, Stephen Bowers Jr., Everly Harter, Logan Kedzoir, Bradley Wattenberg, and Jenna Wattenberg.

From John F. Kennedy Middle School, the participants are Kaylee Ruan, Isaac Watkins, Adilayde Cotto, Kaiden Dawson, Sarah Dunne, Anthony Kantorki, and Danielah Lubrico. Additionally, Liberty Elementary School will send Madison Carter, Amelia Das, and Govani Rosko, while Meadow View Elementary School will be represented by Leah Brucker, Annalyse Giandonato, and Isaiah Hite.

The ILMEA Junior All-State Conference is a significant event within the music education community, featuring performances and activities designed to enhance students’ musical skills. Though primarily focused on elementary and middle school students, this conference is part of a larger state program that also includes high school All-State events.

The achievement of these students not only highlights their individual talents but also reflects the strong music education program within Plainfield School District 202.
